Why Mairovo exists

There's a structural gap in the New Zealand used-car market between private sellers and licensed traders. Sellers either spend weekends fielding tyre-kickers on Trade Me, take a heavy hit at a car-buying company, or trade in for less than the car is worth. Trade buyers, meanwhile, drive hours to auctions and pay a 5–8% buyer's premium that gets baked back into your trade-in price. A free, sealed-bid marketplace that puts every relevant trade buyer in competition on the same car closes that gap — sellers get a fair wholesale price in about an hour, and trade buyers get direct private-seller stock without the auction skim.

Founding strategic partnership with DataKinetic

Mairovo is built in founding strategic partnership with DataKinetic — a board seat, milestone-vested equity, and the ongoing CTO function for the platform. The relationship gives a small founding team the engineering depth of a much larger company without diluting the product focus.

Local and compliant

Mairovo Ltd is a New Zealand registered company. The platform runs on AWS Sydney, is built to be Privacy Act 2020 compliant from day one, and is aligned with the Motor Vehicle Sales Act 2003. We're engaging with the Motor Trade Association as we onboard our first cohort of RMVT trade buyers.
